I restored four directors chairs. I removed the fabric, washed and dyed the seats cover and back rest to a pine green. One chair seat cover had a huge tear in it, I sewed it up and added some stronger fabric to keep it together.
I cleaned, sanded using 40 - 120 grit, filled holes with wood filler, used WD-40 to loosen the joints and keep them squeak free, cleaned again and used a Danish oil to restore, rehydrate and return the wood to it's natural glory.
