Custom pool table light
Heu guys! I was asked recently by a pool fan/player could i possible make him a custom light for his pool table...... but also could i incorporate his old pool balls in the design. HECK YEAH!! I love a good challenge and this was right uo my alley. I started by getting some infor regarding his exsosting light i.e lenght, height, width and light centres. Once i had these at hand i drew up several ideas until the right one came along. I went for a steel rectangle box frame design that incorporated the balls that could spin independantly within the frame. For this i had to centre drill every ball through the side so that the steel rod could pass through and keep the numbers visible. The box fram was fairly simple to do but ould have been too short length wise if i jist used the balls married together. To elongate this i put 20mm bead spacers between the balls to make the whole thing longer and more asstetically pleasing. The from was made in such a way that all cables would be hidden with the tube and not on display. I welded some hanging hooks and oulets for the lamp shades. Primed and spayed in satin black. Wired up and tested ok! This was a tricky project at parts but was totally worth it for the finished result.
