Dying planter to lively Tiki bar

From an old dying planter to a fun lively tiki bar.
This project involved demolition, design, a little creativity, and a lot of hard work.
The heart of this bar is the reclaimed pine sleepers, which make up the bartop, While the flare is the recycled panelling.
My personal favourite aspect is the re-used stones in the cobblestone floor.
Step 1: Demolition

When we noticed that the planter was being neglected and taken over by weeds, we felt it was time to breathe life into this area again.
Carefully disassembling the wooden frame and moving A cubic meter of soil gave us our blank canvas to get to designing.
Step 2: Design

Once we could map the area, the structure had to be designed, This was the only new timber gotten for the project as we needed it to be strong and weather resistant
Step 3: Foundation

The vision of a cobblestone floor was realised when our excess of stones, under the planter, was uncovered.
This involved digging out the foundation, filling, and compacting to give a solid base for the frame
Step 4: Framing

At this point the vision started to appear. The frame was up and the bartop could be assembled and treated to bring out its natural beauty
Step 5: Finishing touches

At this point it was all details and decorating. Pallets saved from the scrapyard made the panelling on this bar.
And the beauty hidden beneath the moss and dirt of the sleepers came out with a lot of planing and a little oil
