Guinness petrol pump
Hey guys! This is my Guinness themed vintage petrol pump restoration. It started with my infatuation with wanting to restore some old petrol pumps. I managed to source and save 3 1980's Tokiem 93XA pumps that were going to be scrapped. I pleaded with rhebowner to let me take them. It was then that i planned on doing a Guinness themed pump but rather than having a globe on the pump, i would use the Guinness harp tap instead which i though represented the globe even better.... not to mention once plumbed up would serve Guinness. The job start by stripping down the whole pump into parts and removing the parts not required, everything was degreased and hosed down. All panals were inspected and stripped of all paint back to metal if required, holes and dents were repaired prior to priming everyrhing for paint. I then had custom paint made up to represent the guinness colours. I started with all the black parts, then masked off the head of the pint and went with creams on top. The best part was blending the black and cream to make the pint look like it is settling by airbrushing. The top panal required fabricating to fot the tap. Once all was prepped and set, it was time to start assembing the punp back together again carefully and wiribg up lighting and pumbed up for the Guinness tap. Really fun job i enjoyed so much i made 3 different types.
Thanks guys!
