Removing stubborn bolts for a caliper refresh
I wanted to give my car a sportier, cleaner look by repainting the brake calipers. Before I could start the preparation and painting process, I had to remove several stubborn, rusted bolts that hadn’t been touched in years.
WD-40 came to the rescue. A quick application helped penetrate the corrosion and loosen the seized fasteners, making disassembly much easier and reducing the risk of damaging bolts during removal. Once the calipers were removed, I cleaned, masked, and painted them to achieve a fresh, professional-looking finish.
The project transformed the appearance of the wheels and braking system, giving the car a more customized look. WD-40 played an important role in helping me overcome the biggest challenge of the job—freeing rusted hardware so the restoration work could begin smoothly.
From tackling corrosion to helping with maintenance projects, WD-40 proved to be an essential part of my DIY toolkit.
