Sanded back all of the white paint form the previous owner to the wood - for the drawers and the unit itself. Removed all the handles form the drawers - filled the holes. When filler cured sanded everything down and any other imperfections found sanded again. Cleaned the pieces then applied a furniture primer. After two coats allowed to harden for a few days then coated with a chalky furniture paint. Painted the legs and middle a dark brown to contrast with the blue and then added the handles and corner pieces for rustic effect
